Description
The unprecedented ascent to Les Praeres, a four-kilometer mini-Angliru with ramps around 20%. A rise that, since it was announced as a novelty of the Vuelta, has become a new epic climb for cyclist around the world.
The upper part, which leads to the imposing meadows that give the climb its name, has been made of zahorra, also known in cycling as sterrato. The last ramps, some 800 metres of wild percentages reaching 20%, are made of concrete, while the rest of the climb, up to the Pra bridge (where the ascent starts), is made of asphalt.
