Description
The Brakkeberg runs parallel to the Geulhemmerberg. However, the Brakkeberg in South Limburg is much steeper and more difficult. If you turn right from Geulweg into Wolfsdriesweg towards Brakkeberg you will see the Hennie Kuiper Allee on your right-hand side. This part of the footpath was used as an abbreviation by Hennie Kuiper in the 1982 Amstel Gold Race. This enabled him to win back a few meters from the leading group after he had to loosen with a flat tire. The residents honored this stunt with an unofficial street sign.
