Description
Typically a decisive climb in the Giro Di Lombardia race. While it does not evoke the myths or history of the Ghisallo and Muro di Sormano climbs, the Civiglio holds its own as one of the most difficult in Lombardia. Tucked into the steep hillside overlooking Como, its switchbacks and narrow pitches are often the scenes of final attacks in the Il Lombardia professional race. For example in 2018 Thibaut Pinot and in 2019 Bauke Mollema launched their attacks here. It is only 4km long, but averages nearly 10% with the steepest at 14%, and is a worthy challenge to any cyclist visiting Lake Como.
