Description
On this climb in the Tour de France of 1966, Jan Janssen lost his yellow jersey to Lucien Aimar. Janssen got the jersey one day earlier. Just before the climb, in the descent of the Colletta, he attacks and takes Janssen and Poulidor by surprise. He got away from the favorites Poulidor / Anquetil / Janssen and started the climb with a 1-minute advantage. On top, he had more than 3 minutes and keeps it until the finish in Turin. Lucien Aimar takes the yellow jersey and defended it successfully until Paris.
