Description
The ski resort entered the Tour history book in style as a stage finish in 2012 with its final climb made for the best possible climbers. On that day, Chris Froome managed a fabulous demonstration of power perfectly responding to a Cadel Evans attack when the climb was at its steepest. At the top, team SKY claimed a perfect double: stage for Froome, yellow jersey for Wiggins. Two years later, it was Vincenzo Nibali’s turn to triumph with his Italian national champion’s jersey, a performance imitated by Fabio Aru in 2017.
