Description
At 2008 meters, Mount Mitchell is the highest peak east of the Mississippi River. The summit sits at the dead-end of Mount Mitchell State Park road, the highest legal paved road in the eastern United States. It’s the leg-breaking highlight in the annual Assault on Mt. Mitchell event.
