Description
With the climb Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne, the E3 Harelbeke and the Ronde van Vlaanderen send the peloton via the cobblestones of the Oudestraat (Kruisberg) and the asphalt of the Hotond (also Hoogberg) to the highest point of the Flemish Ardennes. A combination that can be particularly important in the final of the Ronde van Vlaanderen (from 2015), in the run-up to the ultimate duet of Old Kwaremont and Paterberg.
In 2018 just after Kruisberg, Terpstra parries an attack by Vincenzo Nibali. Soon he catches the riders of the early attack and drops them and wins the Ronde van Vlaanderen.
