Description
The Vršic Pass is the highest mountain pass of Slovenia. The pass is located in the eastern Julian Alps. The pass is crossed by the R206 regional road between Kranjska Gora and Trenta. The Vršič pass has 50 hairpin bends.
The scenery arguably the equal of the far more populated climbs of France and Switzerland, this peak can be tackled in either direction. The advice, however, is to traverse north-south – the hairpin bends on the north side are cobbled, and thus better suited to ascents than descents.
