Description
The story goes that the Paterberg was built by a local farmer who was jealous of his colleague from Koppenberg. In reality, however, it was the municipality of Kluisbergen that had an existing road, accessible only to tractors, clad with cobblestones in 1983. Initially this was to become asphalt, but with a nod to the Ronde Van Vlaanderen, it turned out to be just stones. Slightly more expensive, but so much better. Three years later, the Paterberg (street) made its debut in the Ronde Van Vlaanderen, and in 1993 it followed many other famous roads from the Ronde Van Vlaanderen as a protected monument.
