Description
The Pool of Peace is now a beautiful piece of nature. The crater is a scar from the Battle of Mines. On 7 June 1917, British troops detonated 19 underground mines from Hill 60 to Ploegsteert. The explosions created enormous craters in the landscape. The largest and most impressive crater is the 'Pool of Peace', with a depth of 12 meters and a diameter of 129 meters.
Hellingenroute Heuvelland with a slope number 28.
