Description

The Reddish Knob is the highest elevation of the Shenandoah Mountain ridge, which forms the eastern boundary of the Allegheny Mountains to the Shenandoah Valley. The area lies almost entirely within the George Washington National Forest, a vast wooded national forest largely protected as a wilderness area. In addition, the border between Virginia and West Virginia runs along the ridge.
