Description
The German bunker Skip Point, halfway up the slope on the right, played an important role in the German defence of the south side of Wijtschate during the Mine Battle of 7 June 1917. At 4.10 a.m., after the great explosion of the 19 Deep Mines, the Irish divisions began the liberation of Wytschaete. Here, however, they met fierce German resistance.
