Description
This East Asian behemoth travels from the city of Hualien to the summit of Wuling Mountain and is home to the Taiwan KOM Challenge, what is considered by many to be one of the hardest climbing races on the planet. In 2017 Vincenzo Nibali won the Taiwan KOM Challenge, finishing more than a minute ahead of his competitors. Nibali reportedly set a new record for the event with a time of 3:19:54. The 106km event starts at sea level and finishes at an altitude of 3,275 meters atop the Wuling Pass, Taiwan's highest road.
