Beschreibung
Start from a few meters from the water of Lake Lugano, at Osteno (where you have the nicest/most idyllic and quiet terras at Bar del Porto, to drink the best cappuccino) all to the Balcone d'Italia. This climb is nowhere really steep, and go steady around 6%. Maybe a few meters there is 11%. First km's you see the lake, near Laino it 'disappear', but you will see it again when you pass Laino. In San Fedele Intelvi you reach the first part of the climb, go to the right, this part is almost flat and for about 4 km the road goes down. Then follow the second part, nice through the landscape/nature. You come in Lanzo d'Intelvi, go right at the roundabout en then first left through the village, then follow the road Via Sighignola. This third part goes steady uphill for around 6-7% for about 5 km. Watch out (downhill (one-way road) for the bad part of the asphalt, there are holes and in a combination of sun and the trees you see them not very good). At the end of the road, there is really Breathtaking. WAUW!! You see the city of Lugano and if you fly by when the weather is clear, you can see the planes start-landing Malpensa-Milano. Only for the view, it's more the worth to climb this road! And don't forget to sit at the terras in Osteno when you are back downhill.
