Description
The second challenging ascent along the gravel path of Monte Sante Marie, now dubbed Settore Fabian Cancellara since 2017 in honor of the three-time Strade Bianche champion, presents perhaps the most demanding segment of the race due to its length and steep inclines. This unpaved section primarily ascends, interspersed with sharp descents and ascents, offering a mix of challenges. In both 2022 and 2024, Tadej Pogacar launched his decisive attack here, ultimately triumphing upon reaching Siena.
