Description
The Col de Vence is located in the hinterland of the Côte d'Azur above Vence and is one of the many links between the bustling towns of the Côte d'Azur and the quiet and beautiful hinterland, a dream for anyone looking for quiet roads with moderate gradients.
The pass road itself is populated by racing cyclists at all times of the day, but especially at lunchtime and at the end of the day also by cars heading for the villages in the hinterland. The Col de Vence is particularly popular with local cyclists as a morning training lap and can be included in various round trips.
The climb has never been featured in the Tour de France.
Because the mayor of Nice didn't want the Paris-Nice peloton to visit his city in the final weekend, the route was changed at the last moment. Because of this, the Col du Vence has been cancelled for the 2021 edition.
