Ascent from Eppstein via the approx. 1.4 km long ascent with maximum gradients of 14%.
The road is asphalted throughout and was built over 100 years ago by the Kurhessian Pioneer Battalion 11.
Once you reach the top, you have a marvellous view over the town of Eppstein and Eppstein Castle.
On a rocky outcrop is a memorial set in columns to commemorate the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871) and the founding of the German Empire.
Its name ‘Kaisertempel’ (Imperial Temple) refers to the First German Emperor Wilhelm I and his successor Frederick III.
