Descrizione
The Koning van Spanje owes its name to the fact that the Spanish king used to pitch his camp here during a campaign in the Netherlands. It is located above Gulpen on a high plateau, on which you can reach the southern Heuvelland on only slightly ascending path to Loorberg, while it goes in a northeasterly direction to the neighboring, slightly lower, but much better known Gulperberg.
At the Amstel Gold Race, coming from the Loorberg, it serves only as a descent on the way to the western entrance of the Gulperberg.
