Opis

Normally on the Eyserbosweg the Amstel Gold Race will be opened by the contenders by means of several attacks, but in 2019 this was different. At 44 kilometres from the end, there was the unexpected attack on the Gulperberg. Mathieu van der Poel jumped away and only got Gorka Izagirre with him. The Spanish champion just didn't want to cooperate, so the two were caught before the Kruisberg. The rest of that race is history. In the final of that race Kwiatkowski was able to return in the last few kilometres through the poker in front of Alaphilippe and Fuglsang. Van der Poel even managed to close the gap in extremis, although he had to clear everything himself with a whole group in his wheel. In the last 300 meters he joined the three leaders and started his sprint, to which no one, but no one had an answer.
