Descripción

The steep Moskesstraat has been rebuilt in 2021. In the Brabantse Pijl of 2020, it was the cobbled climb where Julian Alaphilippe and Mathieu van der Poel made the difference, but whether that will be the case again this year, riders wonder.

Wout van Aert thinks that the magic of the climb has completely disappeared after the reconstruction, he says in conversation with Het Nieuwsblad. I think it's a pity they rebuilt the climb. It was a tough cobblestone climb, now it's a cobbled road'. Because of the better road surface, it will be a completely different race on that climb according to Van Aert. Last year you couldn't go up because of the bad cobblestones, now you can go up hard.

Dylan Teuns agrees with the sentiment of Van Aert, in conversation with Sporza. The rider was looking forward to a difficult climb. The charm is gone. It used to be a difficult slope, now it's a highway that will be easily digested. A shame.
